History Essay

Writing this history essay is currently driving me nuts. I wonder...if I will  be up until 4 doing the paper. I hope not. For those of you out there reading this post, remember time is of essence. Meaning, over the course of the summer, while you are going to beaches, riding roller-coasters, and doing hobbies remember to practice time management.

Freshman Year

As my freshman year comes to an close, I have nothing else to do but reflect. Reflect on the things that I could have done differently. Reflect on all of the parties I could have attended? Reflect on whether or not my Fall Semesters' GPA could have been a 4.0. And reflect on if I could have avoided take Human Anatomy over again. So many regrets, so many wished to start over a new. But within about two days it will all be over, and that when the fun truly starts.

Natural hair

All of people think that natural hair is perfect in its Afro style, but few people know the real struggle that people with 4C/4B have to face on a weekly bases. On a weekly bases the hair must be washed, detangled and styled. One style that is common in the Afro community is mini twist. In all honest this process take from 3 to 6 hours tops. Where you hair in a Afro all the time is asking for a hair death sentence, because it starts to tangle with in 2 minutes.

Do you see a problem with how readers are reacting to the Twilight series?

My problem is that some of readers of the Twilight series are being too dramatic. Compares to other movies out there similar to Twilight I don't see people making thousands of blogs, and becoming "real" vampires. If parents are really that concerned about what their children are out of the Twilight series, then please just take the books away from them.

Do you like the structure of Dracula – reading the story in the form of journals, diaries, newspaper clippings, etc?

I do like reading Dracula in a journal, dairy, and newspaper clipping like forms. It makes the story seems more realistic, instead of your typical fantasy vampires fiction. Like twilight it uses the realistic structures to make the subject of vampirism appeal to a wide variety of audience.

Question: Would you recommend Dracula to a friend...

Personally I somewhat would recommend Dracula to my vampire-liking friends. The only thing I find uninteresting in Dracula is the beginning of the book. It quite slow almost boring. Compared to Twilight's being Dracula is dry.

Question: Do you think that the internet and social media can make a real difference in the world? Have you ever seen social change happen because of something someone wrote?

I do think the internet and social media can make a difference in the world.  For instance, compare 2012 and 1993, the year in which i was born. Computers let along internet were not available to a majority of people. Through the internet and social media people are able to change themselves into totally different people, and nothing like how they are in person. On the social sites like Facebook and twitter people can get into written fights, and the next think you know the one said person is on the other person's doorstep beating the crap out of them.

Today I meet with my Comp 2 teacher, to go over a literary work, we read in class last we. To my surprise I actually understood, and knew what they what the story was walking about. The Vampyre is a vamp story that was written long before I was born, so you can imagine the writting style. I also asked her about my Project 1 paper. Sadly to my knowledge, my grade did reflect the effort that I put into it. : ) Talking the Ms. Amy Hodge is fun, and she's a great teacher. Now my only problem with COMP 2 is reading all of this literature and writing paper.Oh well.

In our previous class on monday we talked about what types of arguments that should be used for our project two papers. Frankly I'm lost. So I guess the only thing to do is to go back and reread the slides. But it's actually strange, because wouldn't a sythesis paper in Comp 1 have the same methods for Comp 2? Or is it that we are deal a fantasy that the rules change?

Now that we have turned in our first project for Comp 2, I feel accomplish. I wish I had, had that time to really read N. A, and i guess I will get to, too. Because I have to use that or either THE VAMPYRE for project 2. YEAH ME!!!!!!! Sigh, its gonna be a long semester....

Yesterday in class. We went over paraphrasing, and quoting. Surprisingly , I'm in college and I still don't quite have that down pack. What Ms. Amy went over was quite help to me, and I bet a lot of the other students in my class. I know we have been using the MLA format since grade school, but it seems to me the older we get the more it become complicated. Are they adding or things on to it, to make our lives a living hell? Or maybe its just me, but compared to high school if you plagiarize you get kicked out of school as well as get an zero on the assignment. But really who's going to care about the zero when your ticket to higher education has been snatch out of your hands. You can only say that it was your fought.

COMP 2: Backed up

I'm really having a hard to keeping up with everything it seems this semester. Papers to write. Materials to study. Things to do. It's just a shame that when I actually get in a class (comp 2) that I actually like, and would like to devote all of my time to... What I'm trying to say is. I wish there was enought hours in the day, sothat  i would be able to read NA and the rest of Breaking Dawn, in two sittings. : ( Well it sucks for me.

Comp 2: Twilight

Although I hear alot of bashing about twilight in the class room. Suprisingly some of my friends just like the movies, although they have commented that the books are better. Which I totally agree on. People will have their own oppinions no doubt. Because  no one person is the same, everyone is different. But sometimes it just surprises me to know that,to some people Twilight is more than a fantasy. 

Comp 2: 1st Few Chapter of NA

I liked watching the scenes from NA today in class, it really made the book and its language come to life. ALL SMILES :)

Project 1 Proposal

I finally finished writing my Proposal for Comp. 2. Although it was nothing I had not already done, it was fairly difficult. I had not thought of other way the twilight books could have been interpreted. All in all it is a learning process.
